.THAT'S A
NICE IDEA, BUT...
I've
known Caddy, who co-owns Vanilla
Circus, for
three years now, and I've seen his
photoshop skills absolutely sky
rocket. 17 and on par with some of
the world's best. The guy is insane
behind the machine.
Okay,
so what's the point? We wanted to try
and put our abilities together in
some form or another. We considered a
comic in early 2000, but we just
didn't get far enough. So we said I'd
draw something, and he'd funkify it
on the computer. And it was so...
well, nearly. He's getting there.
.MY OWN
LITTLE CONTRIBUTION
What
to draw, what to draw... Caddy wanted
the pieces to have a fairly personal
feel to them to fit in with his own
site. Okay what can I do? A few
things happened, I had my final exams
and took a trip with five friends to
Wye River (on the coast, west of
Melbourne), where being the only one
up in the morning, I used the time to
draw how I felt about recent events.
I'm
not giving away the meanings, you're
meant to either figure it out or
never know. The drawings took three
or four hours each, all in blue pen
and remain a testament to the only
things about optimism I ever learnt
from that place. Part two still
remains a favourite, it was the first
one I drew, and the way the hair
flowed just turned out perfectly.
Damn I wish I could do it again...

.AND NOW
Yes, well... It's not
quite ready. Caddy's bit is coming,
he's working on it. Or you can keep
checking Vanilla
Circus.
